We have a strong focus on leadership, starting in the Junior School. This includes an active Student Representative Council, a House Captain System and a valuable Peer Support Program.
The Peer Support Program involves our Year 5 students coordinating lunchtime activities for a small group of Junior School students and runs in Terms 1 and 4. This is a wonderful way for students to get to know others students outside their year level.
Year 5 students also culminate their learning journey with an Exhibition. This is a fabulous showcase of collaboration, knowledge and taking action. On the day, Year 5 students lead the school community through their comprehensive display of acquired knowledge, taking the opportunity to teach on their learning and inspire others to take action.
House Captains are nominated for a Semester from Year 5. The two House Captains per House then cultivate team spirit for the swimming carnival and sports day events. They also lead the Junior School Assembly each week and assist with hosting school events.
The Student Representative Council meets fortnightly with a focus on sharing the opinions of students, joining together to support common causes and building the positive atmosphere of the school. Representatives are inducted each semester from across the year levels.
