We work to ensure students are equipped to flourish in an ever-changing landscape, growing both as leaders and collaborators.
We have a mindfully sequenced program woven into classroom programs. The Wellbeing Coordinator oversees the program as well as provides individual and small group guidance, as the need arises. The school Chaplain provides spiritual guidance and support across the whole school.
All classes have a buddy class and activities are designed to foster the cross age connection and build on the supportive nature of the friendships at Walford. This extends to the ELC and also with our Year 11 students.
The Primary Years Programme (PYP) focuses on the development of the whole child, not only in the classroom but also in the world outside. Students start to develop the attributes and traits identified in the IB Learner Profile – to become inquirers, thinkers, communicators, risk-takers, and to be knowledgeable, principled, caring, open-minded, balanced and reflective. The PYP offers a framework that meets the academic, social, emotional, physical, cultural and spiritual needs of young children.
